Edison Challenge

What is the Edison challenge?

The Edison challenge is a fun experiment that focuses on creating new ways to help the environment. It is a competition which consists of 1 teacher and around 6 students from the same school. The five main components of this are the lesson plan where that group has to go and teach a classroom on what their project is all about, a community service project, a research proposal, a creative presentation, and a portfolio consisting of all the papers that group receives and uses. Quickscience

What is Quickscience?

Quickscience is very similar to the Edison Challenge in that it consist of the same components. The only main difference is that this project focuses on water, and new ways in saving it from water pollution. For more information on the Quckscience challenge go to the link below:

HIstory of SOAR and the Involment of the Edison Challenge:

AV SOAR High School

SOAR (Students on the Academic Rise) High School is a specialized high school located on the Antelope Valley College campus but it is part of the Antelope Valley Joint Union High School District. It is an Early College High School which integrates college courses into the high school curriculum.

Successful students will receive both a high school diploma and an Associate's college degree within five years. SOAR High has an emphasis in mathematics, science and engineering.
