The End of This Year's Challenge (2010)
Posted by Oceanits GW on Saturday, March 6, 2010
The Edison and Quikscience Challenge is finally coming to an end. Even though we weren't able to replicate the Edison Challenge and were forced to drop, we think it was better to focus on one project and turn out a quality, not a quantity reproduction of our goals.
That said, our team will be going to a 1-day trip to Catalina! We have scheduled it away from our college and high school schedules because classes have been pretty hectic.
Also, we have been fortuitous to be one of the 3 teams to have an interview with the panel of USC Wrigley Institute of California. After the interviewing process, 2 teams from the 3 will be selected for the 1st and 2nd place winners.
We never thought we would really get an interview, but hoped that we at least got within the top 5. Now that a dream that has materialized over the past 4 months have come true, we are in deep gratitude of those who have all helped us on our journey through. Even if we don't win and get the experience of a life time, we will never forget the experience of working as a team together as a small family through the memories we have outlasted.
We would like to thank personally our Biology teacher and mentor Yvonne Campos, our SOAR principal Micheal Dutton, and the 160 freshman and sophomore classes that have given inspiration and gratitude this past and present year. We hope to rejoin the enviornmental energy challenge again and improve even better on our skills and spread even further awareness through the entire AV and Southern California.
